Hanna In A Choppa 2

Hanna In A Choppa 2

Hanna in a Choppa 2 is a high quality game with lots of love for gamers

I recently picked up and played Hanna in a Choppa 2 and found it to be a well crafted and well thought out flash game. The game has an excellent sense of wit, and is very deeply embedded in nerd culture, in the best ways possible. Right at the beginning of the game the first meme is thrown at you, “Don’t Panic,” the words emblazoned on Douglas Adam’s hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, hover above you as you begin your first mission. Other memes encountered throughout really add to the game play experience, and while playing the game you’ll find additional references to the Beatles, Zombies, and even an amusingly difficult level including Chuck Norris.

The game is also great in that it pays homage to old school games. One level is very similar to Pacman, as you have to gobble up big dots in order to destroy the ghosts. Many Easter eggs referencing other games are also scattered throughout the levels.

One of the highlights of Hanna in a Choppa 2 is the variety in vehicles. The game has a 11 vehicles which can each be used to complete the levels. Some of the vehicles included are helicopters, a VTOL fighter, a UFO, a jetpack, a disco ball, and even a missile that can be ridden “Dr. Strangelove” style. While the arrow keys control all vehicles, different vehicles handle quite differently and require a different touch on the keyboard. The UFO especially requires a very light touch, which keep the game interesting.

The other highlight of Hannah in a Choppa 2 is the number and creativity of levels. It’s worth noting that all the levels from the original game are included in Hanna in a Choppa 2, and are playable with all the new vehicles. Level design is wonderful, and in addition to the standard physics based levels where the player has to maneuver through obstacles, that are some really interesting and creative levels as well. The first quirky level you encounter has you using your UFO to abduct cows. Further on in the game there is also a Zombie level where you use your vehicle to maneuver a weight to smash zombies while they cry for brains. Another interesting level is the fireworks level, where the player must position barrels of fireworks along a fuse in order to create a fireworks display, and while a single barrel is enough to pass the level, if you light all the barrels at once its considered a secret.

The final highlight of Hanna in a Choppa 2 is the secrets and achievement system. Every level has a secret which can be found, whether its lighting all the fireworks at once, or smashing every last zombie. The drive to complete all achievements, unlock all secrets, and finish each level at high speed while not touching the walls, gives the game great re-playability.

If you’re looking for a physics based flash game, Hanna in a Choppa 2 is a great choice. The creativity and quality of level design, interesting vehicles, as well as the secrets and achievements to be found make this a must play game.

If you’re looking for a little free online arcade action, try Hanna in a Choppa 2!

Hanna in a Choppa 2 is kind of like a game of mini-putt crossed with an arcade claw. Your mission is to fly your vehicle through the level, to avoid the walls of the maze on the way to the flag at the end of the level near which you must smoothly and and safely land.

As you progress, you’ll be able to ride several different vehicles. You’ll find yourself in the pilot’s chair of a two helix army chopper, a tiny one-man single helix ”bubble” helicopter, a jet pack, a light plane and even an unidentified flying object (the circular one with a dome through which an alien can pop his or her head through to see what’s going on.)

One you reach higher levels, you won’t only have to control your helicopter (or other flying contraption) – you’ll have to navigate through tighter and tighter spaces while simultaneously completing tasks, such as flipping switches and using your item manipulator to pickup, place and/or drop objects.

Every flying machine comes equipped with an item manipulator (similar to an arcade claw), which you can activate or deactivate using the SPACE BAR. This tool can be used to lift objects of any size or shape.

Other action keys are as follow:

– Use the UP arrow key to navigate your flying machine upwards;
– Use the DOWN arrow key to navigate your flying machine downwards;
– Use the LEFT arrow key to navigate your flying machine to the left;
– Use the RIGHT arrow key to navigate your flying machine to the right;
– Use a combination of these keys to get the right angles and speed needed to maneuver through the maze;
– Use the Z and X keys to rotate your flying machine frontwards and backwards (rocking motion) to help get you through vertical narrow passes;
– as a quick reminder, use the SPACE BAR to pick up and drop objects;
– at the end of the level, you can either click or use the ENTER key to move on to the next level.

There will be various obstacles and tasks to complete as you advance through the game. Fly through switches to activate them or drop items on them when the game calls for it. Without giving too many secrets away, you will have the pleasure of kidnapping a cow alien-style and dropping it into a secure field – this will grant you access to the next part of the game. Doesn’t that sound like fun?

Hanna in a Choppa 2 combines both simple arcade charm and intelligent design. It doesn’t suffice to simply plow through the levels to advance. One must plan the route as one goes along, always remaining alert to ensure all game walls are avoided. That task is harder once your item manipulator is dragging something along. Items in tow increase the surface area of your ship and heighten the chances that you’ll bank into a wall.
